Come with us to experience food and wine like never before. You will be able to see how Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is made, visit a prosciutto producer, balsamic vinegar producer, and different wineries.
You will travel mostly in “your private vehicle”, to enable you to see the countryside and stop to visit cultural sites. You will also have a cooking class or classes led by experienced chefs. As far as meals are concerned, breakfast is included as well as dinner (please see itinerary for details). Since we will be a small group, the best way to experience the food you want to try is to order off the menu, so go right ahead.
All the accommodations are in 4 & 5-star hotels that have been personally visited by us. All have air conditioning, a private bath, and free wifi.
Remember this is your vacation and you deserve to be pampered and not have to worry about all the details because we take care of them for you! Day 1 | MILAN-PARMA Arrive in Milan and be taken to your hotel in the Parma area. The Parma area is known for its Prosciutto di Parma and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. We will visit producers of each and enjoy a wonderful lunch at one of them. Dinner and night at the hotel. |
Day 2 | BOLOGNA/MODENA Balsamic Vinegar, Mortadella, Lambrusco wine, this area is famous for them all. We will visit a producer of Balsamic Vinegar and you will taste why 25-year-old balsamic vinegar can cost hundreds of dollars. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in the area. |
Day 3,4 & 5 | FLORENCE & AREA A visit to Florence is a must and we will tour the city and see many of the major sights. The surrounding area has much to offer and we will visit San Gimignano, famous for its towers from the medieval time period. Visits to Chianti and producers of wine and olive oil. Dinners and 3 nights in hotel |
Day 6 & 7 & 8 | VENICE & AREA We will visit Venice and walk around the city seeing the major sites. We will be staying outside of Venice and visit a producer of wine & grappa. We will visit a cheese producer and also a prosciutto producer. Dinners & 3 nights hotel |
Day 9 | MILAN Last day & night in Milan and before going back to the USA or your next destination. We will go to the Duomo, Galleria & Michaelangelo’s Last Supper. Dinner at a restaurant known for serving excellent fish along with other entrees will cap off the day. |
